    Now I’m 32

    January 28, 2023 /

31 was a year of major growth, lots of risk-taking, and a huge confidence builder. It challenged me, pushed me, and helped me realize that I can do hard things. I can believe in myself and I can accomplish a lot. I'm walking out of 31 and into 32 so proud of what I have accomplished and energized to keep pushing forward. Last year was just the beginning. Just a sample of what I can do, and an appetizer, if you will, to what I want to do.

Turning 30: The Start of a New Year, a New Decade and a New Chapter

    January 28, 2021 /

Like I do every year, I am ready to outline my goals, my resolutions if you will, for this next year. However, since this isn't just any birthday, it's, as I've been annoyingly saying, the start of a new chapter for me and there is a lot I hope to change and do moving forward not just this year, but in general.

Turning 30: Looking at my 20s Through a Positive Lens

    January 26, 2021 /

I turn 30 in just a couple days and I don't remember ever being this excited for a birthday. I turned 18 in high school, early in my senior year, so very little changed there. At 21 I had very little interest in alcohol, so that was no big achievement. And at 25 I was excited to be able to rent a car, but who really thinks about that? But 30, 30 feels different. I have been excited to turn 30 since last year and even though COVID is throwing a wrench into many of my celebration plans, that doesn't change how thrilled I am to be leaving my 20s…

Quarantine Day 24-29: Happy Birthday Mom

    April 15, 2020 /

I think this is probably the longest I have gone between quarantine entries, but it's been a weird few days. In my last few entries, I mentioned that I just wasn't feeling myself. Whether it was the rain, my anxiety, the reality of such an overwhelming situation, or maybe even a little bit of depression; I just wasn't doing much. I was getting up in the morning at a decent time, getting dressed, taking care of my basic needs and commitments, but overall I was just going through the motions of the day.

    Turning 29 – Goals

    January 28, 2020 /

Most years rather than making a list of New Year's resolutions, I make birthday goals - things I want to do, improve upon and change for the year to come. My birthday is so close to New Year's anyways, that I always feel like it's pointless to make any eating right and/or working out goals, because I know as soon as my birthday week rolls around all my progress is going to be derailed.

Not only are the falls gorgeous but the entire hike up was too. Totally worth wading through knee deep water a dozen times.

I used to do "dumb" things like this all the time I used to do "dumb" things like this all the time in Hawaii. Hiking in the rain, crossing deep, rough water. But for some reason when there's a chill in the air and the water is a bit icy, it's a bit more intimidating. No less fun, but more intimidating for sure!
