It’s Time to Try a Cup – This Post is about Periods
Traditional period products are expensive, wasteful, uncomfortable, and packed with plastic and other harmful chemicals. I started hearing about alternative period products a few years ago, things like The Diva Cup and Thinx, but was too afraid to make the switch, until this year. I've now been using my menstrual cup for six months and regret nothing except not making the change sooner.

Hot Chickz – L.A. Hot Chicken, Hidden Gem in La Puente
As I write this I have eaten at Hot Chickz, three times, twice in one weekend. I have tried both versions of their sandwiches, their chicken sandwich (served on a bun) and their Hot Chick Sandwich (served on a roll). I have tried two different spice levels "Just a Kick" (mild) and "Feelin' It" (medium). Although I was able to eat the medium it was painful and I've decided to stick with their mild. I have also tried their Hot Chick Fries (everything you get on a Hot Chick Sandwich, chicken, coleslaw, pickles, and sauce, on top of fries), their mac and cheese, and a pepperoni pizza.

Tomato Update – My Plants are Dying!
A few weeks ago I shared with you how I ended up with eight different tomato plants, despite not liking tomatoes at all. I had decided at the beginning of the growing season to share more of my garden and what I'm doing and learning, so I had decided to write that post probably a couple months ago. Thanks to life and a bad case of procrastination, that post didn't make it up when I wanted it to and sadly by the time I did publish that post I was already starting to run into problems, but I had not figured out what was causing the problem and I was…

I Hate Plastic Water Bottles
Now I could go on and on about the amount of plastic waste produced by people drinking water bottles (over 60 million water bottles are thrown away everyday in the US) or how much plastic is entering our oceans annually (8 million metric tons), which if you are reading this, you probably were expecting that, but I realize not everyone cares about that. Not everyone is concerned with how much plastic they waste or how much that plastic is hurting the planet, but most people do care about their money and how much they are wasting or how much they could save.

How I Ended Up With 8 Different Tomato Plants When I Hate Tomatoes
I hate tomatoes. I almost never eat tomatoes and 90% of my tomato consumption comes in the form of pizza and/or tomato sauce. I don't like tomatoes on my burgers or my sandwiches and I hate tomatoes in my salads. So then why am I growing eight different tomato varieties? I will tell you why, it is Cal Poly's Tomatozania's fault...kind of.

30 Days of Meditation
I've been working towards this since I started meditating last year, at the start of COVID and for the month of April I committed myself to 30 straight days of meditation! Last year, during the month of April I challenged myself to 30 days of hula hooping and managed to see that all the way through, so this April seemed like the perfect time to challenge myself again.

It’s Been One Month
Well I really wish I had some great excuse, some big new to share. I wasn't sick, I didn't have any big tragedy or big success. Nothing really changed and I haven't been going through anything. Really this past month has just been a regular life month, doing everyday life things and time got away from me.

Happy 1 Year Quarantine Anniversary
Today officially marks the one year anniversary of my first day in COVID Quarantine. One year ago yesterday was my last day at work. One year ago tomorrow I published my first Corona Journal Entry. And one year ago today I woke up a little scared, but full of enthusiasm and ready to make this time at home count. Little did I know that this time at home would turn into a year at home and wow, I would have never guessed where this past year would take me.

My New Job Made Me Hate Myself
Everyday that I came home from work I couldn't stop the thoughts running through my head like, "You're going to turn 30, broke and working at ###." or "You're almost 30 and you already failed at your career." or worse, "So what good is your college degree?" Taking this job, this job that I desperately needed left me feeling like the biggest loser ever and I hated that. I wanted to be proud that I was working, that I was figuring out a way to get by, but all I could think about was how it wasn't supposed to be that way.
