Joshua Tree was one of my dad's favorite places, right along with the High Sierra and the Grand Teton. I grew up hearing him talk about this strange land in the desert, but despite it being only about two hours away from where I grew up I never had the pleasure of experiencing it with him.

You Won’t Always Have More Time
When my dad was sick, I spent nearly every day by his side. I gave him hugs and kisses every chance I had. And I was constantly saying “I love you.” The day he died was hard for me. It was hard for me on many levels, not just the obvious one. The day he died, I got very angry at a nurse who was practically force feeding him. Quarantine Day 16-19: I Accidentally Drank a $350 Bottle of Wine
Although I feel like I have continued to do a pretty good job of staying a productive human being the last few days, I can officially say quarantine has gotten to me and the days are starting to blur. I know I haven't wasted a single day this week. I've gotten up at a decent time every morning, I'm cooking, cleaning and working out. I stay busy. But, I cannot tell you what I have done for the last 3-4 days nor do I have anything to show for those days.

Desert Rain
ullhead City, Arizona is a community located directly across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada and not too far from Needles, California. For those of you that still don't know what I'm talking about, it is about 90 miles south of Las Vegas. It is also a major part of my childhood.

10 Years
This Tuesday (6/11) marks the 10 year anniversary of my high school graduation. The ending of one chapter and the start of a new. For everyone, their high school graduation means change and new beginnings. It's one of the many stepping stones into adulthood. For me it marked the beginning of the end in many ways, and that sounds much more dramatic than I intended, but I can't think of a better way to say it. This wasn't just the closing of my childhood chapter and beginning of my adulthood one, it was the first nail in the door to my childhood. Before the calendar year would end my life…
