2022 – New Year Means New Years Resolutions
I spent a lot of 2021 upset about where I was (am) in life and was too scared to actually make any changes. I spent all of 2021 thinking about the life I wanted and the changes I could make to get that life, while ultimately doing very little about it. I was so afraid of making a move or taking a risk that could fail, that I did nothing for most of the year. I don't want that to happen this year.

My Own Original Thoughts on a Completly Un-Original Interpretation on the Last Two Years
As I've listened to these conversations and discussions about this past year I've heard many different metaphors or examples to explain the past two years, but the one that makes the most sense to me or that has resonated with me the most is a car accident. (I'm not sure if this is all my own idea or if someone else made the reference and it stuck with me, but the car accident metaphor is the one I've latched on to and will run with.) For the past two years, we have been living through a horrible car accident and the physical rehab that follows.

Get in the Spooky Mood with Norco’s Pumpkin Rock Hike
Halloween may be less than a week away, but if you live in Southern California and are looking for a unique way to celebrate this spooky season, the Pumpkin Rock Hike in Norco may be perfect for you! I’ve done this hike twice now since moving back to California, right around my first Halloween back, and once this past weekend. The hike is short, just around a mile round trip, and despite the incline (depending on the route you chose) and some loose rock/gravel, the hike is pretty doable by most people in relative shape. And this hike is for the most part family-friendly, as long as no one has…

Women’s March: Rally For Abortion Justice 2021
This past Saturday, October 2, 2021, hundreds of thousands of women rallied together and marched for women's reproductive rights. There were over 600 marches held across the country and I attended Downtown LA's event. The exact numbers haven't been reported, but it was estimated that approximately 20,000 women were going to participate in the Downtown LA event.

I Went Back In The Ocean For The First Time Since Leaving Hawaii
Yes, known for surfing there are beaches that have some pretty big waves, but it varies throughout the year and there are certain beaches that are almost always relatively calm or at least don't have the kind of waves that will knock you over. On top of that the water is clear and the sand is soft. Most the beaches in Hawaii have crystal clear waters and I could see down to the floor even once I swam out far enough I could no longer reach the sea floor. And, best of all, the water in Hawaii is so warm, all year round in comparison to Southern California. Living in…

I Went Back To School
This summer I enrolled at Mt. SAC in two different classes. I enrolled, with my husband in an agriculture class, Food Production, Land Use, and Politics - A Global Perspective. Having my husband take that class with me was a total lifesaver, but more on that later. I also enrolled in Real Estate Principles, one of the required classes to get your real estate license here in California.

It’s Time to Try a Cup – This Post is about Periods
Traditional period products are expensive, wasteful, uncomfortable, and packed with plastic and other harmful chemicals. I started hearing about alternative period products a few years ago, things like The Diva Cup and Thinx, but was too afraid to make the switch, until this year. I've now been using my menstrual cup for six months and regret nothing except not making the change sooner.

Hot Chickz – L.A. Hot Chicken, Hidden Gem in La Puente
As I write this I have eaten at Hot Chickz, three times, twice in one weekend. I have tried both versions of their sandwiches, their chicken sandwich (served on a bun) and their Hot Chick Sandwich (served on a roll). I have tried two different spice levels "Just a Kick" (mild) and "Feelin' It" (medium). Although I was able to eat the medium it was painful and I've decided to stick with their mild. I have also tried their Hot Chick Fries (everything you get on a Hot Chick Sandwich, chicken, coleslaw, pickles, and sauce, on top of fries), their mac and cheese, and a pepperoni pizza.
